Last minute details are coming together nicely for our planned May hiking trip on the next section of the AT heading north. This section is from VA 42 to Catawba, VA for a distance of 30 miles.
So far we have 14 hikers signed up. We will be splitting the group into 2 teams. One team will head north from VA 42 and the other team will hike from Catawba, VA south. The teams will exchange van keys midway. We're having to hike the section this way because of problems getting a shuttle service with the size of our group. Two of our hikers are new this trip but will most likely do just fine.
This portion of the AT will probably include more rocks and rock formations similar to the April trip.
