April 2008 Hike in VA

The 40 mile stretch from Pearisburg, VA to VA 42 was great. We had 12 hikers on this trip. The weather proved to be perfect except for a slight sprinkling of rain in the evening only lasting a few minutes.

The terrain was very rocky. There were some very interesting rock formations along the way also. Take a look at the photos included. Notice the rectangular, large rock formation. These appeared at a number of locations along the way. They appeared to be 'natural' formations.

We had a bold creek crossing to contend with as well. The bridge apparently was out since the hurricanes of several years ago. It made the trip that much more interesting.

Preparations are being made for the May 2008 trip. We'll report in when we get back.
